Checked in here last month with my Homegirl and we had a really good time!! Both of us were really stoked to try Jamaican Cuisine for the first time and this Cave really blew our expectations away. Fatima was the Server on duty and she was really friendly and personable. She helped keep the dining Room really comfortable, clean, tidy, and organized which helped us enjoy our experience so much better. For the beverages I ordered a chilled Modelo, a Ginger Pineapple Drink, and a Strawberry Banana Smoothie and all of them were served fresh and at the proper temperatures! My Friend ordered a Ginger Pineapple Drink as well and she loved it so much too. Fatima was a very detailed and attentive order taker and answered all our questions about the menu patiently. My Friend and I ended up ordering the Tilapia and the Jerk Chicken Entrees, both which were very carefully prepared and presented with Diamond quality precision and outstanding Excellence and we savored our Meals joyfully while catching up on each other's Life Novelas ;0) I love how our Protein is served with Rice prepared with beans for an extra smart and healthy Carb and Protein Balance, cooked Cabbage and Spinach (depending on which side order you choose), fried Plaintains and the most delicious piece of Coconut Bread. The food and beverages hit the spot so expertly, thank you to Hilltop Management for doing all the small big things right and also offering us lots of delicious Patties and fun literature to take home too! I brought home Veggie and Beef Patties to share with the Family and the 'My Caribbean Grandma' Kidlit book as a Sexy Cultural Imprint Souveneir too :0) Love this Special Cave and will definitely be back!!!

I haven't been here since they were at their old location, but the new location is definitely a lot nicer. The food is still solid, but I'm not sure how to feel about how I saw an employee being treated by someone I can only assume is a manager or in a higher position of some kind. This time I wasn't allowed to order a oxtail and jerk chicken combo as I was when I came here for the first time a bit ago. So, I was forced to order a plate of oxtail (they only have a large size) and then ordered a side of jerk chicken. Both were still good but it would have been nice as a combo because the oxtail plate itself is over $30 by itself! The flavors are very strong and the meat is tender, but I don't think I could spend that much on a regular basis. The beef and curry chicken patties were both tasty. They make for great snacks and definitely even for a good breakfast. What I was disappointed to witness was how the older lady treated the younger employee. I could tell he was trying his best to provide friendly service but the lady was being extremely rude and condescending to him the entire time I was there. You should never treat your employees like they're stupid even if they make mistakes. He answered the phone and apparently they weren't taking phone orders and she scolded him as he was talking to the customer saying 'we arent taking phone orders right now' basically telling him to hang up. I was surprised to witness this as there are nicer ways in handling the situation. If a business isn't able to handle the pressure when it gets busier, they should either hire more people or make adjustments to their service. The negative attitude was visible and will end up affecting the customers mood and perception. If the food wasn't good, I probably wouldn't come back to support them. Good food will only get you so far. Appreciate the employees that show up to work and try their best because you would be nothing without them!

It's very simple, if you don't like the food here, clearly you don't appreciate Jamaican food, or you're unable to recognize good Jamaican food because.. shocker, you must have no taste. The best Jamaican food I've ever had since I stopped going on vacation to Jamaica with my family. Can't decide on which I like more, the jerk chicken or the oxtails. My family is in love with the curry goat, which is also delicious. Don't be intimidated by the negative reviews. As usual, when dining at a cultural restaurant, there are often times people with poor palates or no understanding of cultural flavors that come in here and get upset because their salt and pepper palates have been challenged by a whole new world of flavor. Or, people who don't understand the market get fussy because of the price of things like oxtail. People who have never even seen the pricing of oxtail at the grocery store but wanna say it's too expensive at a restaurant, how exactly would they even know? Then, they come on Yelp and leave poor or petty reviews because they're uncultured. The kind of people who would go to a curry shop and complain about the complex flavors.

Great food: the pineapple wings, and the oxtail are a must. The patio area offers plenty of shade and a relaxing atmosphere.

Omg the Shortrib was so tender it fell of the bone. Completely melted in our mouths. Jerk Shrimp was so tasty and little spicy for me! Soda was so yummm! Also hours are not as posted on Yelp. They are open 11a-9p Mon-Fri and 11a-10p on Sat and Sun.
